Research Intern (P/T)—Visitor Services
(Non-union, unpaid internship position)
Requirements: Candidate should have experience in qualitative and quantitative research design, as well as proven experience working with statistical software and analyzing data. College-level coursework in statistics is required. Coursework on survey methods and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are strongly preferred. Candidate should have an interest in the arts and audience development, excellent spoken and written communication skills, and a professional demeanor. Graduate students are preferred, though honors-level undergraduate students with advanced training will be considered.
Responsibilities: Intern will assist with analyzing and reporting on Museum visitor survey data (current and historical) and will review and report on Museum admission statistics captured within the Museum's ticketing database. Intern will also develop and conduct interviews and surveys, as well as coordinate audience focus groups.
Reports to: Manager of Audience Metrics
Starting date: January/February 2014
Work schedule: 5 hours a week
