Research Intern (P/T)—Marketing and Visitor Services
(Non-Union, Unpaid Internship Position)
Requirements: Candidate should have experience in qualitative and quantitative research design, as well as proven experience running statistical tests in SPSS, analyzing data, and presenting findings in the appropriate format. College-level coursework in statistics and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and charts and with MS Word are required, and familiarity with the online survey product Survey Monkey is preferred. Candidate should have an interest in the arts and audience development, the ability to work independently toward team goals, and a professional demeanor. A proven ability to work with others at various levels in an organization and excellent spoken and written communication skills are also required. Graduate students are preferred, though honors-level undergraduate students with advanced training will be considered.
Responsibilities: Intern will assist with analyzing and reporting on Museum visitor survey data (current and historical) and will review and report on Museum admission statistics captured within the Museum's ticketing database. Intern will also develop and conduct interviews and coordinate audience focus groups.
Reports to: Manager of Marketing and Visitor Services.
Starting Date: As soon as possible.
Work Schedule: Up to 5 hours per day, one day a week.
Compensation: Museum volunteer status and school credit.
