IN CONVERSATION

Our visitors respond to this 30-second video.

  • It is a meshing of the old and the new, the valued w ith the discarded, the beautiful with the mundane, the Kente cloth aesthetic of pieces together to make a whole and the bold Western aesthetic of large and larger, simple with complex, fine with massive all combined with movement, impermanence, connectedness and part of the whole and love. A treasure. Truly works of global art that speak very loudly of history and reconciliation.

  • Klimt comes to mind. Gold, shimmering patterns with a great understanding of color, form and pattern.

  • Radiant and resplendent . Like diamonds found. The compositions and the work show enormous universality.

    — Frank

  • A desire to connect the past (refuse) with the present (non-fixed installations) without a metonymic relationship. Every artist, every generation can rework the whole, but the elements of the past and the processes that created them still remain.

  • So moving to my whole being. All the friends I have told to visit this work have felt the same way.
