Exhibitions: Gravity and Grace: Monumental Works by El Anatsui

IN CONVERSATION

Our visitors respond to this 30-second video.

  • It reminded me of a sand hill and it also reminded me of a pyramid covered in gold

    — Susan

  • Gustav klimt

    — Beth

  • I feel deeply moved by the pieces as art and deeply sad when I follow the pieces back in time and space to their origin, the drink and how it can ravish a human life and society. There is more hope in the milk-can lids.
    All so powerful.

    — Eloise

  • Quilts of course and chain maile (sp?)

    — Muriel

  • I perceive an inner connection, a link with the artist in me. As I search for the meaning in each piece, the title of the work becomes less applicable and instead I am engaged in my own inner dialogue about fluidity and flexibility... And each piece does that to me. Thank you Anatsui

    — Matty
