IN CONVERSATION

Our visitors respond to this 30-second video.

  • My creative mind is blown! Ive seen his work before but this show includes his drawings and wood sculptures as well...I am truly inspired

    — Lisa

  • Listening to El Anatsui's material as it flutters brings us closer to wrapping ourselves up in it. I thank him for his generosity with his materials.

    — Isabella

  • He calls the labor of constructing these stunning objects meditative but I doubt if the repetitive back breaking work of cutting and stitching is a beautiful experience. It is how art is made in worlds where your resources are time and trash. It is wonderful but I hesitate to romanticize it

    — Sharon

  • Brooklyn is a fabric of many people. These
Tapestries are a fabric of many items of wonder. Great job. Thank you

    — Mark

  • Overwhelmed in a good way by the complexity of this exhibit. Beauty, garbage, creativity, politics. What a rich and enriching experience.
