Roundtable Discussion: Raw/Cooked Artists

Thursday, May 31, 2012

7–7 pm

Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Gallery, 5th Floor

The art scene in Brooklyn has exploded over the past decade, becoming a magnet for talent and creativity from around the world.  Four of the Brooklyn-based artists featured in the Raw/Cooked series—Kristof Wickman, Shura Chernozatonskaya, Heather Hart, and Ulrike Müller— talk about the ways they draw inspiration from and make their mark in the borough. The participants will also discuss their experience with the Raw/Cooked project, and how they were inspired by the Museum’s collections and architecture in creating their work for the series. Eugenie Tsai, John and Barbara Vogelstein Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum, will moderate.
