Performance: Nelson George's Our BK with Annabella Sciorra

Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 7 p.m.
Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor

Our BK, the first production from the Brooklyn International Theater Company, celebrates the diversity of Brooklyn, highlighting storytellers from Brownsville to Brighton Beach. Written by Nelson George and inspired by Thornton Wilder's Our Town, Our BK is a series of monologues based on life in this ever-changing borough. Esteemed actress and Brooklyn native Annabella Sciorra reads the lead character.

After the performance, the Company’s cofounders—George, Sciorra, Danny Simmons, and Alix Lambert—discuss the inspiration for the play and the formation of their theater company. The evening will end with a quick primer on Brooklyn street games such as skelli, with audience participation. This event is free with Museum admission.
