Join us this month for a talk and art-making workshop with artist Valerie Hegarty that explores her new work, Alternative Histories. Hegarty’s installation, the second in a series inviting contemporary artists to activate the Museum’s Period Rooms, addresses themes of colonization, Manifest Destiny, and repressed history. Meet the artist and discover innovative ways to integrate art and social studies.
K–12 educators in all subject areas are welcome to attend this free event. Participants will receive free Museum passes and teaching materials.
Advance registration is required. Please email teacher.services@brooklynmuseum.org or call (718) 501-6244 to RSVP.
