Martha A. and Robert S. Rubin Pavilion, 1st Floor
Those with Alzheimer’s disease, their caregivers, and the public are all invited to this celebration of the Memory Arts Café, a series of free art events for people living with Alzheimer’s. The celebration features jazz trumpeter Jesse Neuman, the Rhythm Break Cares Dance Company with Stine Moen and Hooba, and poet Gary Glazner as host. A reception follows. Email access@brooklynmuseum.org for more information.
This event is coproduced by the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project, the Brooklyn Museum, and the New York Memory Center.
The New York Memory Center is a Brooklyn-based agency providing services to adults with cognitive, physical, and emotional limitations, to help them enjoy life beyond diagnosis of memory loss.
The Memory Arts Café is sponsored, in part, by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, the Axe-Houghton Foundation, and the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council.
