4–6:30 pm
Education Division, 1st Floor
Join us for the next in our monthly series of workshops that help teachers engage with our collections and exhibitions. This month we’ll explore the exhibition Witness: Art and Civil Rights in the Sixties. Witness marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with artwork that was influenced by and contributed to the Civil Rights Movement. We’ll visit the exhibition and participate in our own creative, interactive experiences that blend art with social studies.
K–12 educators in all subject areas are welcome at this free event, where we’ll provide teaching materials for use in the classroom. Come by at 4 p.m. for coffee and conversation; we’ll begin promptly at 4:30. Please register in advance by email or by calling (718) 501-6228.
