Saturday, November 15, 2014

2–2 pm

Morris A. and Meyer Schapiro Wing, 4th Floor

In this three-part series, guest scholars, educators, artists, writers, activists, and cultural workers engage in public dialogues exploring themes of black female identity in mainstream culture.

The third panel, “Beyond Binaries and Boxes: Deconstructing and Re-envisioning Black Feminism(s),” asks you to reframe and reenvision black feminism(s) to include creativity, abundance, and collective liberation in the twenty-first century. Participants include Tanya Fields, activist for food justice and economic development; Florence Noel, Northeast Director of Girls Who Code; Jamilah Lemieux, Journalist and Editor of Ebony.com; and Aiesha Turman, Executive Director of Black Girl Project.

Free with Museum admission.  Seating is first-come, first-served. Watch the conversation live. Co-presented by MAPP International Productions and 651 ARTS; curated by Ebony Noelle Golden.
