Summer Teacher Institute: Activate! Participate! Dynamic Arts Learning for Museum and Classroom

Monday, July 6, 2015

9 am–4 pm

Dr. Louis Nathanson Board Room, 6th Floor

Course Dates: July 6–10, & 13

Explore the Museum with new eyes during our six-day course for K–12 educators. Take part in exciting, interactive, and unexpected sessions that will help you and your students expand the possibilities of learning with art. Arts integration across the disciplines? You bet. Differentiated learning? Absolutely. We'll help you build your confidence and creativity to plan dynamic lessons your students will love.

This course supports the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts (Visual Arts) and Common Core Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy and will be taught through a variety of multimodal workshops that aim to surprise, inspire, and share solid object-based teaching strategies you can use in both museums and classrooms. By the end you'll leave thinking, “I never knew you could do that in a museum!”

Course Type: P Credit (3 credits)
Course Fee: $375 ($125 After School Professional Development Program registration fee included)
Auditing Fee: $250
