As silly as this seems, it’s just not real until the signs go up and here they are. I will admit, I was more than a little giddy seeing these unwrapped and going into the lobby case and Mary Jane (pictured above) was humoring me a bit by letting me take pics.
Jook Leung (above) from 360vr came in yesterday to shoot a virtual tour of the gallery. For all those who helped curate from lands far away, you can tour from your computer if you can’t make it to the Museum. But, if you can come…do it! Christine and Sarah from our Digital Lab made a wonderful set of prints (the photographers will be very happy) and Lance and Tomoko designed and installed a rockin’ gallery.

Special thanks for the virtual tour…I have a friend who has sustained some serious injuries and will not be able to make it to the museum. You must have been thinking of her when you did this.

Be it known what we did is NOT ART! … and we who submitted are “people who have yet to achieve significant fame or commercial success and, probably, people who have pretty conventional ideas about photography.”
Well, at least we’ve had our 15 seconds of fame.

Thank you for posting the pictures & the virtual tour – it was so nice to show my family the whole process who is in Florida. Unfortunately, I missed the meet up on the 1st Saturday because I away on vacation. I will surely be there on the 13th!
I don’t understand how the virtual tour is supposed to work. I went to:

but all you can do is pan around, no ability to zoom in tight on any of the photographs. WTP?
Hi Bob, with all our VRs we are struggling to provide the content with a decent download speed for viewing. In this instance, you can zoom in a little using the + sign, but not too much – the more detail, the larger the file, the more frustrating it becomes to just view the file. It’s a bit of a balance. Hopefully, the VR will give you the general idea of how we installed the show, then you can go to the results area to see the photos up close.
