In order to upload works into ArtShare for your institution, we ask that you create a Facebook "page" for the institution. Once you create your page, install the ArtShare application on the page. Once the app is installed, access ArtShare from the "page" and go to the "upload artwork" tab and start uploading. Please don't upload more than 100 things (we are watching our server load in these early stages and want to make sure we don't go overboard). You don't have to resize the photos in the upload process because our server will do it automatically, but it may help things go smoother if you do. If you have the time, resize to 180px wide before you upload.
For our purposes, your page can remain "unpublished" if you wish to keep it private or launch it at a later time. Additionally, we request that you assign at least two staff members from your organization to be administrators of your organization's page. This helps ensure that more than one person maintains access to the information in case of staff departure.
Once you are done, send us an email and include:
- The link to your institution's Facebook page.
- A 16x16 px logo (jpg) for your institution
- A brief text about your organization (many orgs are using their mission text).
Please note: To maximize our time, we move additional institutions into the global application during the first week of every month. Please plan your timeframe for uploading/launch accordingly.
