Adelaide of Susa
b. circa 1015, Susa, Italy; d. circa 1091, exact location uncertain

Adelaide of Susa was the heiress of the Italian cities of Turin and Susa. She became the countess of Savoy, a region in modern-day France, through her marriage to Otto I, count of Savoy, around 1046. The mother of two sons and two daughters, all of whom became politically important, she seems to have been known for her generous philanthropy in donating buildings and property for religious use.
