Aethelburg
Flourished circa 722, England
Queen Aethelburg was the wife of King Ine of Wessex, a kingdom of Old England before the unification of 927. In 722, she burned down the city of Taunton, which her husband Ine had built. At the time, he was away on a military campaign and enemy forces had overtaken the city. Queen Aethelburg destroyed it rather than see it controlled by any other kingdom.
