Bertha of England
b. 538, Paris; d. circa 612, England

Bertha, the daughter of King Charibert of Paris, married King Ethelbert of Kent, in England. Although her husband was a pagan, she revived a Christian church at Canterbury which had fallen into disrepair and dedicated it to Martin, the patron saint of France. Bertha and Ethelbert, both canonized after their deaths, were instrumental in establishing and spreading Christianity through southern England.
