Cleobuline
Flourished circa 550 B.C., Rhodes, ancient Greece

Cleobuline (Cleobulina) was the nickname of a poet from Rhodes, given to her by her father Cleobulus, one of the Seven Sages of Greece. Following in his footsteps, she wrote poetry and was said to have matched him in skill. Cleobuline seems to have been particularly skilled in writing riddles or enigmas in hexameter verse.
