Juno
Mythic, worshipped in ancient Rome, circa 753 B.C.–A.D. 476
The Roman equivalent of Hera, Juno was the wife of Jupiter, ruler of the gods, and mother of Mars, the god of war. Roman women held a festival in her honor on March 1 each year called the Matronalia, dedicated to Juno in her role as goddess of childbirth. She acquired many different titles for her different roles, one of the most popular being Juno Regina, "Juno the Queen."
