Karen Horney

b. 1885, Blankensee, Germany; d. 1952, New York

Karen Horney graduated from medical school to become a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist. In addition to her practice, she taught, wrote, and developed groundbreaking theories on neurosis and personality types.
