The correct spelling of this name is SUBH.
Subh was the mother of Hisham II, the caliph of Córdoba in Islamic Spain. She was a sultana and ruled as a regent for Hisham until he came of age. Subh was allied with General Ghalib and Abu ‘Amir al-Mansur. The latter, it was rumored, was Subh’s lover; by 978, he had become de facto ruler of Córdoba, pushing both Subh and Hisham to the sidelines.
