Negotiations

Daniela I Kostova. Negotiations, 2006.

Description:
Negotiations is a single-channel video based on a site-specific performance made for the exhibition Boundaries at MAN Museum in Nuoro, Italy (2006). It explores the limits of cross-cultural communication and uneasy process of translation. Over a period of two years I developed an interactive system that utilizes the blue screen video technique as a tool for manipulating a human body moving through an unknown environment. In Negotiation the performer’s body disappears real time through the use of custom made software made in collaboration with Olivia Robinson.
