30 of my worst features
Elizabeth Berdann. 30 of my worst features, 1992.
Description:
30 of my worst features is a collection of 30 miniature paintings framed by jewelry findings. Some of the labeled paintings are: "Hairy bikini line," "Pale skin," "No cleavage," and "Cellulite." This installation explores, in a tongue-in-cheek way, issues of feminine identity. Preciousness combines with humor to elicit questions of cultural definitions of beauty, self-fascination, and narcissism.
