We live in a world of signs, paintings represent and are built of signs: this work is part of a series of paintings and drawings that embody and perform the trace of painting theory. The paintings represent and perform “Painting,” “Writing,” “trace," “Drawing,” and here, “Sign.” This is both an individual painting and also part of a larger painting installation.
