Will Holub's "PROOF OF HEAVEN: Women of the Golden Age," is a series of oil paintings based on vintage black and white publicity stills produced during the Hollywood studio-system era. Technically the works are painterly enhancements of what was already manipulated source material and therefore describe the antecedents of the virtual images that so many people today alter and tweak in the service of their own digital self-productions.
