This piece is a commentary on the tensions within the commercial art world between fine art and craft. Etching and printmaking are considered "fine" art. Textile work, "wearable" art is considered craft, and the lesser of the two arts. Very often a comment about my work is that is it walks a fine line between craft and fine art. Here I have made a garment out of my etchings. The end result is a piece in which the viewer is both unable to wear it and unable to ever see the complete picture of the etchings: a failure on both counts, but a statement nonetheless.
