The Brooklyn Museum

Education: Films

Movies @ the Museum forges connections between the fine arts and popular media. On select weekends throughout the year, classic and contemporary film screenings explore the themes and ideas found in the Museum’s special exhibitions and permanent collections. Additional screenings celebrate cultural events such as Black History Month and Women’s History Month. Films are often followed by discussions or question-and-answer sessions with filmmakers. Film programs are free with Museum admission, unless otherwise noted.

The Brooklyn Museum is also proud to host important community film festivals, including the Brooklyn International Film Festival, the African Film Festival/New York, and the Brooklyn Arts Council International Film and Video Festival.
