Education: Lesson Plans and Pre-Visit Materials

Although the Museum learning experience is based on observation, a pre-visit activity introducing vocabulary, history, or background information can greatly enhance your class trip. Included below are pre-visit materials that contain suggestions about preparing students for a Museum visit. For more ideas, please introduce or supplement your visit through more resources. Collaborative planning is the best way to ensure that your students have a valuable educational experience while visiting the Museum. The museum educator assigned to your group will contact you once your visit has been scheduled, or you may contact the Museum at (718) 501-6221 or youth.tours@brooklynmuseum.org.
