Bring your day camp group to the Brooklyn Museum this summer for an exciting cross-cultural journey through art. Campers will learn how to look at artworks from around the world through fun, thought-provoking Museum tours, each focusing on a different educational theme. These interactive guided tours include activities such as storytelling, drawing, and observation. All tours draw from one or more of the Museum's collections of Asian, Islamic, African, ancient Egyptian, American, and European art.
Choose one of the following tours, for groups with children ages five to twelve:
- People in Art: From expressive faces to subtle gestures, explore how people come alive in art from around the world.
- New York City, Past and Present: Learn what life was like in Brooklyn and Manhattan through the Museum’s collection of historic houses and period rooms.
- On the Wild Side: Asian lion-dogs, wild animals, and anthropomorphic beings live in the Brooklyn Museum. Learn how artists depict creatures from their imagination.
- The Artist’s Environment: Learn about the many different ways artists look at our world and how this inspires their artworks.
- Powerful and Royal Leaders: Learn how artists depict some of the most famous and feared leaders of all time, from ancient Egyptian pharaohs to European princes.
- Gods and Goddesses: Hear folktales, myths, and legends to learn about the captivating characters found in Museum artworks.
