Brooklyn Museum: Education: Day Camp Visits

Bring your day campers to the Brooklyn Museum this summer to engage in fun, thought-provoking Museum tours that teach about artistic practices from around the world. All tours include storytelling, drawing, and observation activities for groups with children ages five to twelve. Choose one of the following culturally rich tours:

America by Design: Investigate artists' choices and uncover the secret strategies of American artists and designers.
The Power of Asia: Be inspired by the strength and influence of Asia's mythological gods, goddesses, heroes, and animals.
African Masks and Masquerades: Explore ceremonial designs and uses of masks, headdresses, and dance costumes.
Wonders of Ancient Egypt: Discover amazing art from Egyptian tombs, including mummy coffins, hieroglyphs, gold jewelry, and more.
Behind the Scenes: Get the scoop on the ins and outs of how museums work from an insider's point of view.

Tours are available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, July 9 through August 15. Each tour group must have a reservation. The fee is $3 per camper, to be paid at the Museum's Visitor Center when your group arrives for its tour. There is a maximum of 5 adults per group of 25 campers. Please let us know if your campers require any adaptations for special needs. We ask that your staff assist us in maintaining proper Museum protocol during the tour.

Tour Reservations
To make a reservation, call (718) 501-6221. When leaving a message, include all the following information:

Your name
The name of your organization
Your phone number
The number of campers
The age range of the campers
At least two dates you are available for a tour
The tour you would like: America, Asia, Africa, Egypt, or Behind the Scenes
The tour time you prefer: 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Payment is due two weeks before your scheduled arrival date. If you must cancel your visit, please cancel no later than a week before your scheduled arrival date to avoid being charged for your reservation. To cancel or reschedule your visit, call (718) 501-6221.
