A program for the Museum’s youngest visitors and those who care for them, Meet the Museum provides toddlers ages two through three years old with opportunities to experiment with and explore art and culture through song, gallery activities, and art making. Adult companions work closely with their children and discover creative and fun ways to interact.
Thursdays, 11 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
A Year in Meet the Museum:
October: Find colors in the Museum’s masterpieces, and mix them in order to create your own artwork. Registration is closed for October.
Please note: October's Meet the Museum will only be held at 11 a.m.
November: Artists combine ideas and materials that are both similar and different. See what you can mix and match in the galleries and your art.
December: Meet animals including a blue fish, life-sized tigers, and an Egyptian hippopotamus.
January: Pose like a sculpture and learn how your body can be used to make art.
February: Follow a golden ibis, the symbol for Thoth, the god of writing in ancient Egypt, and embark on your journey to reading and writing in art.
March: Explore how artists around the world create their art.
April: Blue skies in landscapes, shapes that form faces, and the textures of sculptures inspire us to make our own masterpieces.
May: The great outdoors are full of inspiration for artists and toddlers alike. Explore artworks that show the world outside.
