Artist Statement
In Sheepshead Bay, on Bedford & Avenue X, a playground handball court memorializes local firefighters and police officers who died on September 11th. In the midst of a handball game, this local youth appears to salute the memorial. The names of the cops and firefighters - Italian, Irish, Latino - tell a story of this changing outer Brooklyn neighborhood. I am a Brooklyn-based photographer. I am primarily interested in exploring neighborhoods and capturing their varied, essential character through small moments. This photo was taken with a digital camera.

Evokes multiple definitions of the exhibition theme without being too cliche. Nice.
