Artist Statement

I was riding my bike through this area and saw this grocers sign, part old and with this "new" name scratched on there. I came back a few days later to photograph it.

Wonderful composition! Love this picture !

This is very relevant to the pre-gentrification of Brooklyn and true to the theme of the changing face of Brooklyn. Brooklynites take what already exists, make an identity mark on it and make it their own.

I would have liked to see a bit more of the new developments on the right as a strong contrast to the old store, part of the foreground cropped, and the top of the building extending into the sky.

Lincoln Place and what?

worth the effort of understanding what is happening.

I like this one.

Classic shot of any street corner in Brooklyn!
