For countless generations Brooklyn has been a mecca for immigrant families. As each group arrived they brought new languages, new music, new food -- but most especially new life to our borough. The cultural quilt has been enhanced yet again with people from Mexico and Central and South America. For me, the changing fact of Brooklyn is this little girl. All of my street photography is shot with a 50mm lens. It allows me to get close-ups which entirely fill the frame and capture personality.

Lovely portrait.
could be anywhere.. what does this have to do with brooklyn? this is a camera-shy girl on the street, not the face of brooklyn
how many photos do i have to comment on this hackneyed theme.....BROOKLYN AND IT"S DEVELOPMENT IS UNWELCOMING TO IMMIGRANTS!!! the only immigrants brooklyn is getting these days is people immigrating from Connecticut.
perfect
There's an element of the pathetic fallacy making the picture of this little girl seem more effective than might really be, but the way that her one eye comes out of the shadows and peers past the ribbon on the adult's shirt at the center of the picture really grabs me aesthetically and emotionally.
Beautiful image. I love the 50mm lens too.

the face of broklyn does not necessarly have to be a place and whether or not these ppl are born in broklyn or not they are residents and thats enough to make them part of Brocklyn!!! — Posted by Alice
