Artist Statement
I have been in New York for two and half years and I have already seen a lot of changes in my neighborhood (Williamsburg/Greenpoint). In this picture the construction site and cranes are fake. It’s a drawing on the wall hiding a real construction site. The brand new buildings don’t often, for me, respect the city’s character, architecture and history. The city is loosing little by little its human aspect. The picture I took represents the fakeness, in terms of architecture that a city like Brooklyn is heading too. (I used a digital camera Nikon D80).

you haven't been in New York long enough to make this statement
Amen!
I love the mural, then the real trees coming out of back and the real fire hydrant. Great set up. Great commentary on the development in BK.
I get this shot. The trees, to me, represent the city's character - it's not gone yet, but soon may be.
Many of these fotos capture the "already" changed Brooklyn and doesn't necessarily capture the transformation.
a public garden hides behind this mural of industry
Evokes certain kinds of very realistic American Painting for me. The wonderful effect here is that it takes a minute to realize that the man is not in the painting--or is he?
This background looks so realistic. The person walking actually seems to blend in with the facade as well.
very interesting composition of quirky subject
i think that you really captured somthing in new york that you dont see very ofton. — Posted by rose
this image is really cool as well as awesome because of the presence of the trees coexisting with the buildings — Posted by TIye
