Artist Statement
This is a photograph of 812 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, a building threatened with demolition to make way for the proposed "Atlantic Yards" development. Since 2004, as a new resident of the neighborhood, I have been documenting the changing "face" in and around the proposed project footprint as part of my project, "Atlantic Yards: [De]Construction of The Neighborhood." This is a digital photograph.

The clotheslines give it a "sense of 'hood."
The everyday theater is surprising. Even when the Atlantic Yards move in, this energy will be here, even if forced to resettle, in Brooklyn.
I like the composition and the color balance in this photograph, combined with the juxtaposition of "HOOD" and Home.
