I grew up hearing tales of Coney Island in the '30s and '40s fom my parents and knew only Italians and Jews. Our later day diversity of Brooklyn shines in Coney Island- the changes for the better. All races, religions and incomes. Astroland is the one place in NYC where everyone can afford to come and enjoy together. It is my favorite place. the proposed changes for the future sadden me.

Great shot and illustration of the changing faces

A wonderful diverse capture.

hmmm! interesting combination of people and clors. cropping!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice, showing the diversity of Brooklyn experiencing solidarity in fun at Coney Island.

This is one of the most effective photos so far, really exemplifying the idea of this exhibit.

like the concept, just don't think the photo is that effective

Distracted by a.) those curious airline-like seats? behind the girls and b.) what was making them laugh?

This is an awesome photo...

The look on the face of the young man on the far right is telling some kind of potentially fascinating story.

there's one in every crowd

These are great facial expressions. I wonder what the story is with the sullen-looking guy in the far right. Thank you for an image that shows young Muslim women in their freedom and enjoyment, without othering them.

This picture has such a broad soul to it. It preaches of diversity and human emotion. The three Muslim girls are especially important. They show the potential growth of the soul when it is given the oppurtunity to. Very powerful. — Posted by Alexander

GREAT SHOT! Though Brooklyn may be continuously changing in terms of its new and very pricey "condo" development, it will always maintain its diversity!...I HOPE!! If not at least we have this photo to remember it by... — Posted by Dawn
