Artist Statement
This photo depicts the Austin, Nichols and Company Warehouse Building facing off with the first of the new condo skyscrapers rising along the East River in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The contrast between the old face of the waterfront with the new is evident, with the warehouse appearing to be standing its ground against the threat presented by the new building. The dark clouds rolling in over the River heightened the effect for me, as if they were foreshadowing the upcoming battle between the two. The image was shot using a digital SLR camera with some minimal editing done in Photoshop.

Wonderful capture !!
Old/new - again, this epitomizes a changing landscape.
The colors are beautiful. I think there's merit to what you want to present but I'm not sure the composition achieves it.
What can one say, the photo says it all -- and very well, too.
A majestic sky. Who would have expected here?
this would have benn a great shot if cropped differently. the building on the left detracts from the geometric shapes on the right
and we might add the all american way red, white (clouds) and blue (building) commerce, capitalism, a buck no matter what...not opposed to change, but yes greed...this image speaks to the intended subject matter and much more....wow....another way of seeing..
yes, great coloring. Of the 100 images or so that I've viewed here, this one so far shows the face off between new and old architecture most clearly.
I can almost hear the music from West Side Story. The battle of the buildings.
Love the abstraction of these elements
Love the architecture.
