Artist Statement
Even if Brooklyn is changing, many of us will always remember the way it is. This proud Coney Island boardwalk resident called me around the corner to see the magnificent sunset, set against my favorite skeletal amusement park. The hard shadows of a New Year's sunset painted a perfect picture of Brooklyn's favorite industrial wonderland, the lines of the boardwalk disappearing to the west. Up against deep changes, Coney Island's future may soon be at the whim of outsider developers. But its past belongs in part to this gleeful man, still enchanted by our present Coney Island.

A fantastic and imaginative capture.
what a great shot. i should hope this is published somewhere
Coney Island, Baby.
Great depth and visual stimulation
This is quite a nice image. The composition is interesting and the boardwalk draws your eye to a Brooklyn icon, but it does say "changing" to me.
Kudos for this one.
Elegiac, just the thing...
i've seen so many coney island photos, maybe that is affecting my judgment here.
good composition
evocative of the past and the tarnished present.
the concept is good, however the composition (for me) does not work...its all in the cropping...either the boardwalk or the man or if you chose to forcus on both....then (I say) give both equal space by making that cut in the right place....too much boardwalk ...
These Coney Island shots often seem to say brooklyn to me...as one who has only been to Brooklyn 2-3 times.
i really like the shadow on the wall....it drws the eye, somehow, right to the "tower"
Gorgeous tone, clarity, movement. So rich. And the figures add just the right amount of life to the scene. Beautiful.
Great composition. The silver tones really add something to this image (I'd love to know the camera/film used).
