Artist Statement
The cobblestone street represents the history of this old industrial neighborhood of Red Hook. The home represents the new renovations that have taken place in Red Hook recently. Inside the contemporary windows shows the new environmental concerns for this day and age with the words “Don’t Idle Engine”. This is referring to the buses that stop here and wait for the correct time to begin their routes and turn down Van Brunt street. This is a digital capture taken with a Canon 5D. It was a 10 second exposure at f/8, ISO 200 at 28mm.

this was not like this 10 years ago. it is a changed face of Brooklyn.
the words stand out so much to me and the sky as well the idle is important 2 its ask the viewer are we standing idle while brooklyn changes?

looks very dated yet current...I know the area
american haiku's are everywhere
Beautiful lighting and composition. Very affecting image.
Love the choing of pattern in the street and windows. Environment awareness also good point I haven't seen made in many of these works.
this is certainly a coming together of emotions in regards to old and new. You may not be happy about the gentrification and development, but the new guard at least have environmental concerns
How rude!
