FUNG YEE ALICE NG. Christmas Eve, Coney Island, 2006. All rights reserved
Artist Statement
On Dec 24, 2006 I went to Coney Island. It's cold and empty. Astroland was sold and the area will be redeveloped. I looked through my lens and found that my shadow and the sea gull was bigger than the city. Canon Rebel XT ISO 100, f-5.6, 1/160 Sec

absolutely fantastic!
love the composition here.
Very unique perspective, excellent use of lighting and visual elements (the bird)!
Gosh. That's desolation.
Love the imagery. The photographers use of light is amazing.

wonderful visual idea and execution
Giant shadow (of photographer) as if locked behind prison bars justaposed underneath Brooklyn.A seagull glides freely in the sky.The time is Chiristmas eve.Maybe speaks to out-of-place loneliness/alienation of exile (photographer is not a native).Seagull is freedom/Brookln Dream or object of desire. — Posted by Jeff
Would have liked to make this picture myself, but would have tried in vain to skip my self out of sight. — Posted by ines van dijk
