The first three things that come to my mind when someone mention Coney Island, are: the board walk, the cyclone and its people, characters with such an strong identity. To me that's what it makes this town different than the other ones. As matter of fact a new master plan is on its way, in few years this place won't be the gathering place that used to be. It'll be almost impossible to experience another moment like this, all these great and simple things will vanish. Coney Island - Brooklyn is changing and won't be the same anymore.

that's sure coney but no evidence of change (yet) in 2 years it will be a nostalgic picture
I'm not sure how well this image embodies the idea of change, but to change it to go from one era to another and these old guys at Coney Island definitely seem to be evocative of a past era that is still accessible at a place like Coney Island.
GREAT photo!
the way the two figures are facing off almost imply a confrontation re: the changes to come...neat
I love this picture...it has nothing to do with the theme...but I love this picture.
cultural slice which universally portrays a sense of time out and time passing against a backdrop of american cuisine.
I do not see the implication of change.
Somehow this image does seem to capture (effectively) two "changing faces"/Brooklynites. Can't even describe why/how...but it is very evocative of the theme.
Great texture and implied narrative.
I feel like a corn dog how about you?
