The Brooklyn Museum’s Art Councils provide a wonderful opportunity for Members to explore a specific or general area of interest.
Each council meets four times a year and offers an array of programs, including Behind-the-Scenes tours of the permanent collections, visits to private collections and artists’ studios, and special lectures and discussions led by curators and guest speakers.

- Asian Art Council—Explores the arts of India, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Islamic countries such as Turkey, Iran, and Afghanistan, led by curators in the Collection of Asian Art.
- Contemporary Art Council—Gives casual, serious, and future collectors an opportunity to learn more about the fields that intrigue them, led by curators of the Collection of Contemporary Art.
