Seventy-five artists living in the New York City area will participate in the second Brooklyn Museum Fence Art Show to be held on Sundays October 9 and October 16. The exhibit and sale, which last Spring was viewed by several thousand visitors, is being sponsored by the Museum’s Community Committee.
Paintings, sculpture, watercolors, graphics and ceramics in a wide variety of styles will be displayed on or next to the fence surrounding the parking field between the Museum and the Botanic Garden. Seventeen award winners from the first Fence Show will have their work displayed in the Museum beginning October 9.
On the first Sunday of the exhibit, a jury comprised of Pat Fitzgerald Mandel of the Whitney Museum, Thomas Kyle of the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, Stuart Feld of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Arlene Jacobowitz of The Brooklyn Museum, painter David Levine and sculptor Bruno Lucchessi will choose examples for subsequent showing in the Museum.
The Fence Art Show will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each Sunday. In the event of rain, it will be postponed to the following weekend. There is no charge for admission.
