The exhibiting Brooklyn artists in the second annual show of mixed media works, are: John Calhoun, painter; Spencer Depas, sculptor; Charles Fuhrman, painter; Robert Joyce, constructionist; Helga Meyer, sculptor; Victoria Schiller, graphics; Susan Severson, Laura Schecter, Lynn Silberstang, Dee Slack, and Leslie Spiegel, all painters.
Most of the participating artists have exhibited extensively both in this country and in Europe. With the exception of Miss Meyer, the women exhibitors are part of a larger group of figurative artists who “meet regularly to discuss painting and the relation of women to the art world.” Miss Meyer, who was born in Berlin, has won several awards and prizes for her sculptural portraits. Her works can be found in important collections in this country and abroad.Brooklyn Museum Archives. Records of the Department of Public Information. Press releases, 1971 - 1988. 1971, 044.
