  • October 15, 1971 This season’s series of one-man art shows by selected students of The Brooklyn Museum Art School will open on October 24th in the Little Gallery of the Art School.

    Chosen from work submitted to Sarah Faunce, curator of The Brooklyn Musem’s Paintings and Sculpture Department, the 70-71 series of monthly mini-shows includes paintings and conceptual art.

    The eight artists whose work will be shown are:
    October 24 - November 10 - OLIVE ALPERT
    November 14 - December 1 - BETH AREINOFF
    January 30 - February 16 - JAN OSCHERWITZ
    February 20 - March 8 - CAROL STRONGHILOS
    March 12 - March 29 - H. ARNO HENSELER
    April 2 - April 19 - MARJORIE STEPHENS
    April 23 - May 10 - MARINA BAKER
    May 15 - May 31 - REBECCA FINDHAL

    The Brooklyn Museum Art School, headed by Jolyon Hofsted, has an enrollment of over 1000 students this fall. Its 33 instructors, all professional artists, teach more than 70 full - and part-time courses. Painting and drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, cloisonné enameling, welding, woodworking, stained glass and batik classes are offered.

    A special weekend program for high school students is taught by professional artists.
