  • March 1, 1931 Exhibition of work executed in classes in design conducted by Kate Mann Franklin, chiefly inspired by the Peasant Art of Sweden, Wednesday, March 25th through April 7th, 1931, in the Library Gallery of the Brooklyn Museum.

    Miss Franklin, who spent last summer in Sweden and has conducted these classes in design for teaches and one for younger people, will show with the work inspired by the peasant arts, a number of her own painting which have recently been exhibited at the International Exhibition of Water Color Paintings at the Museum and the Annual Exhibition of the National Association of the Women Painters and Sculptors.

    Public Schools 202, 151, 84, 217, 181, 178 and 209 will be represented.

    Two popular prizes awarded by votes of the visitors will be presented, one for adults and one for the girls' and boys' classes.

    Tea will be served from 3 to 5 P.M. by Miss March C. Melvin and Miss Anne E. Willis of the Friends School in Brooklyn, assisted by three of the younger girls, the Misses Frances Trainer, Joan Boselly and Vida Ginsberg. All those pouring tea will be attired in the gay costumes of the province of Dalecarlia.
