Catalogue Description:
Salt-glazed stoneware jug, tan ground with blue and brown glaze accents. Jug generally ovoid shaped, bulges out in middle, and tapers at top to narrow ringed mouth and at bottom to narrow base. Thick strap handle attached at side of neck and shoulder. On shoulder opposite handle, partially impressed mark: "[... R …]MMEY / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK". Inscribed letters accented in blue glaze, joins of handle in brown. CONDITION: Good; allover discolorations and specks in glaze (firing imperfections).
