Catalogue Description:
One of pair of Jewish ceremonial cups, silver with gilt wash interior, circular form, bowl engraved on the exterior with nineteenth-century inscriptions in Hebrew. Inscription within an oval panel of bright-cut engraving, reads: "the blessing over the wine" (or literally "goblet of blessing"). Around center Hebrew inscription reads: "He who deepeth the precepts will never know of any evil thing." Cups intended for use in Jewish circumcision.
