Catalogue Description:
Teapot (a) and lid (b) with wooden handle; eight-lobed, flattened, gourd-shaped, hand-raised body, which widens toward bottom and sits on narrow foot rim. The circular lid (b) has eight lobes and a pointed four-lobed finial. Bifurcated handle socket is attached to body with two rivets and arches outward in S-curve to cylindrical, tapering wooden handle. The tapered oval spout forms into eight lobes at juncture with body. All silver surfaces are hammered except finial. Part of three-piece service. CONDITION: Good, minor scratches; some caked-up polish under handle sockets.
