Catalogue Description:
Small, turquoise blue faience amulet representing an ape with human legs and wings. The ape stands upon a plinth which is straight-edged in the front and rounded in the rear. He wears an "Atef" crown. The upper part of the body is that of an ape; the lower part is human and child-like with chubby legs. The rear of the body is decorated with a lozenge feather pattern which leads into a long bird's tail. Condition: Chips in mane and crown; dark discoloration in hollows.
